Ryan Soldan, Director 

Ryan Soldan recruits for accounting, finance and operational professions at the director, vice president and C-level. He has successfully completed searches for varied functions including financial reporting, audit, tax, financial planning & analysis, and operational finance. Ryan has experience across many industries, from middle-market service companies, global professional services firms, multi-national automotive and non-automotive manufacturing companies, national finance institutions, and regional real estate firms. Ryan is highly reflective after every client engagement and his discovery process for the next executive is informed by this awareness.
Ryan began his professional career with PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he rotated through the audit and tax functions, in addition to obtaining his CPA. The shift to professional search allowed him to apply knowledge of the technical aspects of accounting and finance, as he learns the particular demands of new businesses and industries. His career at a larger search firm covered 13 years where he provided consulting, permanent staffing, and outsourcing solutions to a wide-variety of organizations from start-ups to Fortune 500 companies. Today, he is more at home finding high-stakes executives who will make a world of difference for clients that are often at a crossroads.


Ryan was a scholar athlete and three-year varsity baseball starter for the Chargers at Hillsdale College, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting. He is married with four active kids who have competed in a variety of sports including baseball, basketball, football, track and cross country.

Search involves asking the right questions and conducting research on the front end to identify hot buttons important to the client. Finding that candidate who will be a valuable addition takes learning about their technical skills and their soft skills. Are they a team player? Do they
have integrity? Will they get the job done? Throughout the process, it takes more listening than talking.”



Ryan reflects that he was not a strong auditor because he did not have that quiet fire or passion for the field, but he excelled at the discourse of selling ideas or solutions. Breaking the ice with people came easily. He took a risk and switched to a search career with an interest to leverage his accounting experience along with his ability to relate to a wide range of people.  


Ryan is steady, efficient and relentless in researching a company to learn why it has been successful or unsuccessful. “I enjoy improving a company’s team and enhancing an employee’s career. I very much cherish those phone calls and emails with messages of recognition and appreciation.” 


Ryan has an ‘unbelievable’ wife who he describes as ‘a great multi-tasker who excels at everything she commits herself to.’ The couple enjoy watching their four kids have success both in the classroom and on the athletic field.
